One of Systema's strengths is its ability to help people feel deeply relaxed. Regular participation gives people a sense of calmness, well being and improved mental health. The family classes will be 3-4 family groups (2-4 per group including children and their parents. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian) held at Crossfit Amptill on Saturdays, 11:30am - 12:45pm. All families will remain in their separate areas at a minimum of 2 metres away from other family groups and the instructor, to keep Covid secure.
The aim of Family Systema is to give you tools to deal with feelings of anxiety and stress. Improved mental health is the ultimate goal, so these classes have been specially arranged with Crossfit Ampthill to help any family deal with with these issues, especially in light of the recent lockdown period where mental health has been paramount.
All sessions will incorporate a lot of movement (some on the ground and some whilst standing and walking), lots of breathing exercises, relaxation techniques and an opportunity to talk at the end to discuss how people have felt about the training and anything else which may have come up for them during the session. Please dress up in warm layers and be prepared to sit, roll and lie on the ground for parts of the training.
We will make sure that the very "martial" aspects will be removed in the family sessions, so there should be no concern that the classes will be aggressive or lead to destructive behaviour, it will actually lead to the opposite, where being relaxed will become be everyone's preference. We want that everybody will turn up and have a great time, feel safe, relaxed and calmer when they leave.
